The Mask Bar at Scratch Goods is a self-service, interactive, BYOB skincare experience. You'll be guided through a gentle skincare ritual using several of our best-selling products. A great way to show yourself some love, celebrate a birthday, or pair with a West Loop brunch!
Read & Run Chicago is the award-winning community arm of Read & Run Tours. Founded in 2021, the mission is simple: to use movement and stories to explore Chicago. Programming includes signature events–the original Read & Run Tours format, book-themed guided runs where stories take place–plus a marathon team, Little Free Libraries, and other community programming that gets Chicagoans moving and supporting local libraries, bookstores, and small businesses. Along the way, Read & Run Chicago champions literacy initiatives and other nonprofits. Our ultimate goal is to help Chicagoans better connect with themselves, each other, and the physical spaces they call home. The experience: During this 60-minute workshop, you'll do an oil facial cleanse and massage, mix and apply your own clay mask, remove with a hot towel, and finish with lots of moisturizing and a warm jade roller tutorial. Armed with tips and techniques to incorporate into your own self-care ritual, you’ll leave refreshed and glowing (with your own mask brush to keep)!
Products: All skincare used at the Mask Bar is handmade by us, in Chicago (right down the street!), with simple, food-grade ingredients.
tea tree cleansing oil / lash + brow oil / all-over butter / sea, matcha, + charcoal masks / jasmine rose skin drink / dark matter coffee eye butter / light + heavy face oils / face butter / warm jade roller.
Allergens? Please inform our team upon arrival of any topical allergies, especially to plants or essential oils - we will offer alternatives whenever possible.
Sanitation: Some products will be dispensed from communal containers that are fully sanitized between uses. Others will be delivered on individual sample trays.
Timing: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, order from our NA drink menu, or pour out your own bevs (we have openers, glassware, and water service covered!). The Mask Bar takes 45-60 minutes once instruction begins.
Location: 127 N Peoria St. Our entrance is shared with Grace Loves Lace and Thrive Collective, just south of Randolph before the entrance to GIn Alley - take the stairs or elevator to the second floor!
*Though our buliding has an elevator, our space is elevated another 5 steps from the second floor.
Parking: Peoria and Randolph have metered parking, but spots fill quickly. The closest parking garage is right next to us at Washington + Peoria. We're 3 blocks from the Morgan Green Line and 1.5 blocks from the Hasted bus.
